Sure, that sounds like an obvious observation, right? Maybe not.

Ask any marketer with more experience than a hot cup of coffee and a Meta Digital Creator tag. Marketing isn't a get rich quick scheme or something you can learn over a weekend. While I won't deny that it doesn't take much to get started, it takes a substantial amount of time and effort to succeed.

Nowadays, everyone with a Facebook account and a hundred followers considers themselves digital marketers. To be blunt, the title of digital marketer has never been as saturated and meaningless as it is now. I don't mean that in a negative way to those who ply their craft and spend years of their lives learning every aspect of their trade. I mean that toward the population of 'marketers' who watch a YouTube video or two, and all of a sudden they're social media managers and digital marketers. Those who take real money from real clients with promises of results, but no in-depth knowledge or experience to achieve them. Then, these clients are disheartened by supposed marketers, which damages the credibility of the legitimate ones.

So what does that have to do with Advanced Digital Marketing Strategies? Everything.

When a marketer realizes that they are on a lifelong journey of education and practical application, they've taken the first step to being a legitimate marketer. When you consider how much digital marketing has changed over the past two years alone, you start to realize the true knowledge that must be attained to find success in this field.

That's the main takeaway from this class for me. I could talk about all the technical stuff, or recite the dozens of acronyms all day long. I could talk about the projects and numbers. I could break down every concept I learned - a lot of them. However, all of that is contained in a simple sentence: Marketing doesn't stay the same.

Learn to keep up or be upset when you don't advance in the race.

Go learn something about your trade today. Your future self will thank you.
